NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Directors of Moses Lake School District No. 161

A Public Hearing on the Proposed Sale of Surplus Real Property is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

The Board of Directors of Moses Lake School District No. 161 (“Board”) is proposing to sell the following described surplus real property that is no longer needed for school district purposes:

Parcel 1

Location: 2nd Street NE and 14700 Block Wheeler Road NE, Moses Lake, Washington, 98837
Abbreviated Legal Description: Lots 1-4 Block 12 Wheeler Assessor’s Tax Parcel No.: 121196000
The district desires and intends to sell the entire parcel, which is approximately 18,700 square feet.

Parcel 2

Location: A proposed parcel located on the east side of the road into the District’s Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center and Transportation Department off 740 East Yonezawa Boulevard, Moses Lake, Washington, 98837
The proposed parcel is located within the Abbreviated Legal Description: Lot 1, Block 1 MLSD 161 MAJOR PLAT (Prelim City ML BLA)
A Portion of Assessor’s Tax Parcel No.: 110478100

The district desires and intends to sell approximately 100,000 square feet of land located in the Southeast corner of the abbreviated legal description. The sale would be contingent on obtaining a binding short plat, and the sale documents would also include a maintenance road agreement with the district, exterior building design covenants to blend into the campus architecture of the adjacent district buildings, and a district review of architectural plans for the site. Deliveries to this site will need to be done within the building, and no exterior storage will be allowed.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board will hold a public hearing regarding the proposal to sell the properties described in Parcel 1 and Parcel 2 above. The public hearing will be held at the Moses Lake School District Board room, 940 E. Yonezawa, Moses Lake, Washington 98837, at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 17, 2024. At that time, the Board will receive evidence and comments for and against the propriety and advisability of the proposed sale.
