Health Reminder

Posted Date: 2/14/25 (8:27 PM)

Dear families,

We have seen an increase in illness in the community and school setting. This is a reminder to encourage your student to rest, drink plenty of fluids, cover our coughs/sneezes and make sure to eat healthy. Most illness is spread through body fluids. By covering coughs, sneezes and washing hands often this will ensure we keep all of those things to ourselves.

Please do NOT send your student to school if you have given them medication to treat a fever in the past 24 hours, have been vomiting in the past 24 hours, have uncontrolled diarrhea or have been seen in the Emergency Room in the past 24 hours and are not cleared for activity. If you have any questions as to when your student is safe to return, please reach out to the School Nurse.

Each school has an attendance line that you can call and leave a voicemail. Some schools do have email set-up so please be sure that you are calling daily. If your student has been seen in the Emergency Room / Urgent Care / Primary Care setting, follow their directions on return and ask to have a doctor's note excusing them from school. This can be sent directly to the School Nurse via email, Parent Square or text by requesting the phone number.

Attached to this notice is a good resource explaining the differences of a Cold vs Flu vs COVID. Thank you for doing your part in keeping our school healthy.

Thank you,
Your Nursing Team
