Bus Involved Incident

Posted Date: 11/06/24 (3:15 PM)

Dear MLSD Community,

This morning, one of our Moses Lake School District school buses (Route 44) was involved in an accident near the intersection of Wheeler Road and Highway 17. The incident occurred at approximately 7:03 a.m. We are relieved to report that no injuries were sustained by students or staff aboard the bus.

In alignment with our transportation protocol, another bus was promptly dispatched to the location to ensure the students were safely transported to their schools. We are incredibly thankful for the quick response of our MLSD Transportation Department and their diligent focus on student safety and well-being.

We understand the concerns that situations like this can raise, and we want to assure our families that the safety of all students and staff is our highest priority. The incident was determined to be of no fault of the bus driver or the school district, and our team responded immediately to uphold our established safety protocols.

At Moses Lake School District, we are steadfast in our commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards not only during transportation but throughout each school day. We appreciate the continued trust and support of our community, and we will always work to ensure that our students are safe, secure, and well-cared for.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the MLSD Director of Transportation at (509) 793-7203.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting our students.
