What is GEAR UP?

GEAR UP is a federally funded program that aims to prepare your child to graduate high school and pursue postsecondary education. We follow the same cohorts of students that we start out with when we receive funding. We are currently serving freshmen and sophomores and will continue to until they graduate high school.

How to sign-up for GEAR UP?

If your child is set to graduate with the Class of 2026 or 2027, they are automatically a GEAR UP student and are eligible for ALL GEAR UP services for free!

What is our MLHS GEAR UP vision statement?

For Moses Lake High School students to obtain a high school diploma and continue onto post-high school education.

What is our MLHS GEAR UP mission statement?

To increase student and family knowledge and awareness of post-high school opportunities.  This is achieved by offering and encouraging:

• Student campus visits and conferences
• Comprehensive student mentoring and advising
• Student and family workshops
• College preparation camps
• Academic coaching/tutoring
• Student leadership programs
• College and career one-to-one advising
• Information regarding financial aid
• Student enrollment in rigorous and challenging courses

What is the MLHS GEAR UP definition of

post-high school education?

Post-high school education is the continuation of education and/or training to obtain a certificate, two-year, or four-year degree.
